Cantare Award

Cantare Choir

Cantare is a Southend based female choir, formed in 2010, which aims to produce high quality performances which capture a passion for Choral Music. A range of musical styles is covered from the classics to songs from the shows. Cantare's Musical Director, Rachel Worth, is passionate about making music fun as well as working hard to achieve the highest standards of performance.
Cantare sings in a variety of venues and takes part in local and national competitions. They gained first prize at both Chelmsford and Southend Music Festivals in November 2011.  At the Southend Festival they won the Freda Parry Presentation bowl for the "most outstanding all-round choral performance".
Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening (during term time) at Southend High School for Boys at 7.30 p.m.
